Kestrel

Sometimes I believe the local refuge Kestrels get the "word" thru their grapevine, when I'm leaving home and they hide. This one however did not get the word yesterday and I was able to get a few shots in before his departure. Morning fog had me using a higher ISO then I prefer and then somehow I moved the f stop to 5.6 when it should have been at f/8.

Larger version available, Thanks for stopping!

F/5.6 1/3600 ISO 1600

A nice pose, composition and background. Not bad at all for the high ISO although some detail has been lost on the crown and face. There's also a strange lighting effect around the kestrel.

Richard,
Thanks for your comment. The "strange lighting effect around the kestrel" is a slight "halo" from using the lighten/darken center NIK filter. For some reason it is seen on this NPN posting while not so much on regular monitor viewing.
