A male osprey answers the cry of the female and returns to the nest. But where's dinner???

Nice action shot Geoff. I like the inclusion of the other Osprey in the nest. I do wish the light was not so harsh though. The whites are a bit hot on my monitor.

Good job keeping the head clear. Wish the bird in the nest was showing his eye.

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Alan, I have a few of these shots as I did a 3 round burst as he came in, but I like the fact that this one has the eye closed by the female. It exudes the crying emotion, which is exactly what she was doing. The intensity it portrays was the key to the shot IMO. I liked the wing position a bit better on one of the others, but decided on this one strictly because of that. If I had to make a wish, I wish the males wing feather wasn't so close to the eye. That bothers me to no end, but what can I do? Mother nature rarely reveals her perfection for me long enough to grab it. ;~)

I understand what you mean about the feather being so close to the eye, but by being there it calls immediate attention to the eye and the intensity of the eye, which then calls attention to the entire body position of the osprey, which I like a lot.
