Canon 1D Mark 4 With EF 500mm f4 and 1.4 X tc

I have not had the time to post in an age. Had to lay on my belly for 3 hours to get these guys in close range. It was a magic moment for me.

Michael, this is one of the loveliest images of a pair of wood ducks I have seen. I like your composition with the ducks lower in the frame with room to swim into. Tough birds to expose in any kind of bright lighting. You did pretty good.

This is very neat and clean wood duck pair shot.
I also thanks a lot for pair photo. (showing what female wood duck looking like)
Because mainly male duck photo is being taken due to the bright and colourful breeding color,

Thank you very much for this happy couple shot.

Very nice getting the pair together. I love the lack of color for the water that makes this almost an abstract.

The water is great Michael. Love this pair and their positioning. In the larger version I can see you needed a bit more DOF to get the female sharp. F/11 would probably had done it and you had the SS too. F/9 might have done it if you mid-focused between the two birds.

Great job getting the pair together, Michael. That water color is great. You did a nice job on the exposure. Wood Ducks can be tough. The head of the female is just a tad soft. A little selective sharpening may help.

The Wood Duck keeps himself and herself guarded and hard to approach. The most beautiful of the duck family.
