Soakin' Up Some Rays

Out early this morning to the local nature preserve and was happy to get some good light. Prospects had been dim but Mother Nature came through. These 2 does (adult and fawn) were enjoying the sun while they rested. Probably the last sun they will see for a week as the forecast is for lots of clouds and rain the rest of the week. Lots of distracting vegetation in the FG as well as the BG but I chose to leave it as is since none was really intruding. Does this work then as shot? I didn't do anything to the photo except resizing and sharpening for the web. Any suggestions for what I could have done? Comments and suggestions appreciated.

I like the fact that these does are sooo relaxed Peter. The light, like you said, is quite good and the fact that the BG is darker and the does are lit is a big plus. I don't mind the vegetation in the BG at all and even the green ones coming from the TRC are not a nit to me, although I might be tempted to tone the brightness of these down a tad. The only ones that bother me a bit are the ones protruding from the bottom in the FG. Not that I am suggesting you clone them out, but perhaps a slightly different angle/position in the field could have solved getting them in your frame?

I concur very much with Vincent's suggestions and observations. The image evokes a sense of calm.
