Canon 1D Mark IV ,ISO 500, 840mm, f 6.3, 1/5000, +1/3 and pp 30% crop.

These two were enjoying the sun along the wetted-edge of a water impoundment at Fish Springs National Wildlife Refuge on the Utah West Desert.

Thanks for looking -- Robbie

I like the diagonal pose of the two birds. I get more detail in the whites for these kinds of shots by starting between minus 1 full and minus 2 full stops. Also when the birds allow it, shoot several shots at different settings exposure control settings.

Hello Robbie

well posed pair. Always nice to get two subjects. The White Details are difficult without experience in the field.... View your Histogram to be sure !!!! Experience with different settings on the camera...

I love snowys. Nice pose by the bird and I like seeing his friends with him. +1/3. Were you using spot metering?
