Tower and Moon

Taken two years ago, I was fortunate to be at Devil's Tower when the moon was rising. Even though the Tower is somewhat an iconic tourist destination, it still is spectacular and understandably revered by Native Americans.

To capture this image, it was necessary to blend a few images to capture the moon and Tower as I saw them.

Excellent photo Ken. Its a great comp and I like your shot a lot. But my monitor tells me that it needs a bit more saturation and contrast. Hope this helps.

Very nice shot of an impressive subject. I agree about the some nice final touches like adjusting the colors a bit and use a better sharpening/compression for the web image.

Nice composition. And even though the Tower is iconic, I don't see it photos too often. I do feel the moon is a bit to bright and contrasty for this scene, but you were there and did your best to render this as you saw it.

Nice image, Ken. I agree with all the comments above, and also am enjoying this photo. The blend looks great. I glad you made it to that location when the moon was up...

wonderful capture. You've showcased the immensity of this feature very well. I like the feeling of silence I get looking at this, it's very calming. Thanks for sharing

This is a very beautiful scene. The picture looks a bit sof though. A bit more contrast and saturation also would be beneficial.

Beautiful image Ken. I really like the simple composition and the moon is a nice touch. The light is wonderful on the tower. Nicely done!

I love the details and color here. I do agree it could use a bit more contrast.

Very cool. :toast: The inclusion of the moon makes it work very nice.

I have wanted to shoot here for a long time. Obviously influenced by "Close Encounters."
