Taken on my last night on the Isle of Skye in Scotland and it was a very memorable one indeed. Not the most original composition but the stormy conditions seem to be the most photogenic and this was certainly no exception! Thanks for looking and please view large. Canon 5D MK2, Canon 17-40L

... and the shores of Mordor!
Nice, dramatic image. Maybe the round rock in the fg a bit bright?

The warm light and lowering clouds create a wonderful tension that helps bring this image to life. As mentioned, highlights on fg rock are a bit hot but that's minor. I really like the feeling of depth you've given this.

The stormy skies really set the mood here, and the composition is not bad either. I might burn down the highlights a bit on that round rock. Nicely done.

Great light and texture on the rocks, though I wonder if they dominate the scene a little

This is one gorgeous place and a beautiful image to portray it. I love the warm light and the opposite blues in the sky. If it were mine I would decrease the warm whites of the foreground round rock. I find that my eye gets stuck there. Nonetheless a beautiful image Adrian.

Thanks for all the comments. I have attached a new version with a darkened foreground rock.

An Incredible sea scape with great composition and plenty of layers of interest. A little over sharpened in places, but good colours throughout.

Nice image. I like the repost much better. I'd even make that boulder on the right darker. Nice combination of the stormy sky with the interesting foreground formations.

Wonderful light and colors in this, Adrian. I really like the mood that the stormy conditions give this. It is a dramatic looking scene very well captured! Nice work!
The repost works even better for me. :toast:

Not too common at all, Adrian! I love rocks, and these look beautiful. I do like the softened foreground rock, as it gives a better balance to the sky in the upper left.
