I must admit that seeing some wonderful ice images long time ago here on NPN made think more and be quite fascinated by this subject. Next to my house there's a river and from time to time, during winter, opportunities for photographing ice details arrise. I kept looking for them in the last three winters and gathered a small collection titled 'Micro Space'. My searches led me from the river next to my house to several places outside my country and back again (of course, not necessarily for ice, but rather for the joy of travel and discovering new places :) ). I always found something different. Ice is almost never the same. This image is one of the latest. It was shot last week in an afternoon after returning from work. I hope you like it.

Very nice! It does look like a scene from outer space. Since this seems to be Rorschach ice test week, my story is that the little bubbles all gathered to watch jealously as the big ring became a planet. However, planet formation caused a shock wave that pushed the watchers away and even caused a few to explode leaving the expanding trails in the urc.

Great find, Dorin! You found a nice comp for this with the diagonal flowing line and the big bubble balanced by the smaller bubbles. The blue tone adds to the icy feel. Looking for ice images can be so fascinating; you never know what you will find!
