Decided to try birds in flight, trying to get a gull or gulls lined up with the wind turbines. Gray birds on a gray day do not work out well. Still, liked the combination.

Canon T3i

canon EF70-300 IS USM @ 300mm
HH spot metering IS on.

This image has a lot to say.. the wind turbines wreak havoc on birds. Thousands of raptors and other birds are killed every year.
Good positioning of the bird between the turbines.
Needs a bit of NR, and I'd suggest cloning out the power line and tower at the bottom.

Interesting image that could be used a number of ways journalistically, including illustrating the damage to bird (and bat) populations, as Sandy mentioned. (However, I disagree with Sandy about cloning: Significantly altering images generally has no place in documentary photograpy or journalism. It has ended careers.)
