Sleeping Bear Lakefront

Taken back in January before the snows started. Although the lack of snow may seem to make this appear to be warm, it is never warm in January along Lake Michigan. Was fussing with an ornery remote release when I took the photo and glad to have gotten this while the light lasted. Tomorrow I am out of here headed for Utah for some sunshine and shooting opportunities.

C&C Welcome.

This is a very pleasing scene. I like the warm glow to it on the grass, it almost makes the snow look like white sand.

Tom, I like this alot!.. It is a great looking scene. The light worked out really nice and does give it a bit of a warm feel even thought a January scene. I like your comp, enjoy the sky and waves in the lake in addition to the grass and snow. I agree with Cristina about the snow looking like it could be white sand in this light. Very nice!
Hope you have a great trip to Utah. Maybe see you this spring in the UP.

Thanks for the comments. Well, actually it is white sand. Unusual to not see snow here in January.

Hey Tom, Guess that explains why it looks like white sand  . I see that you actually stated "before the snows started". Just needed to read it a little better. Same here with a lot of the ground showing much of the winter so far.
Once again, have a great trip! Nick

I can feel the breeze from the waves and grasses. Great lighting. I would not expect such diversity along this lake. Looks more like the ocean. No suggestions, very weel done. Enjoy Utah! :toast:

The contrasts and lines here are quite pleasing, Tom. My only thought is that the water in the LLC is almost black. Seems a bit dark.
