This hibiscus was turned just right for this shot. All I did was black out the pistal and stamens

Lucy, one of my favorite flowers is the Hibiscus. On my screen the flower is not sharpe and looks like you did a very big crop that is seen in the background. There is a lot of noise in the photograph also.

The flying petals are great. Must have been really, really windy.

Mark, it Was windy......hence the name......She's Dancing, not standing still! I was very lucky, that the middle "ruffle" was connected to the stem...so the few drops in the very center hung on "til I got this shot . Personally, I like the fluid motion of the dancer. Sorry about the noise, but it was just starting to get dark outside. I will eliminate the noise with Viveza when I get a chance.

Lucy:
I like this flowing fluid composition and the red really stands out from the bg. A few drops are sharp enough to compensate for the softness which emphasize the motion. This flower looks strange without the pistils and stamens though.

Love selective focus shots of flowers in motion. I think I might have tried to exaggerate one or the other a little more in this one. Never know, though... I love the "flouncy" look.
