Up, Up, and Away!

This was a quick "turn and shoot" moment last November. I was walking along the trail when I heard some noise to my right. I didn't see this guy (great blue heron) beforehand. Dennis, with the bird angled away from us, underexposed, and partly obscured by oof branches, this one doesn't really work for me. I guess I disagree with the premise that you gotta take what they give you--sometimes it's better to wait for a better opportunity.

The branches covering the bird are distracting. Too bad the bird wasn't to the left of frame. :
