Well, we finally received some real snow in southern New Hampshire today.... 12 inches. Yeah! Tomorrow I am driving my youngest son up to Pinkham Notch, NH at the base of Mt Washington for an interview for a summer job. So an opportunity for him to do something he loves and an opportunity for me to recapture images I lost when my computer and many mini drives were stolen from our car during our move from MA to NH an do something I love. This is one of the few pics I had uploaded to my web site from a trip back in Feb 2009 when Kevin submitted Mt Washington. I spent that day around the Joe Dodge Lodge and Crystal Cascades with my camera gear as I will on Saturday and maybe Sunday if the weather on Saturday is bad enough not to drive home that evening (fingers crossed). Only 2 and 1/2 hours away but I should get up there more often since it was one of my favorite places back in the day when I was Kevin's age.

Thanks for looking and for any C&C.

Hi Eva, I really enjoyed reading this, and enjoy the image as well. Wonderful textures in this and a great comp! Nice to enjoy simple scenes like this, which looks like it is my back yard with the pine needles! Looks simple but your good eye on the comp makes it work for me. Glad you got some new snow!

Eva, I enjoy the fine balanced composition, the subtle lighting and the nice texture of the snow. Your b&w conversion works very well for me.

Nicely captured Eva. I like the soft light and the contrasting needles. Also like the little impression (track or leaf, or something) at the very top.

Very nice, Eva. I like the light spilling across the snow, the lines of the pine needles and the conversion to black and white to emphasize light, shadow, and those lines.
