Hello,

This photo was taken this past weekend in a municipal park in the Montreal suburbs. I used a 30 second exposure to record the cloud movement. The white specs mostly apparent in the tree on the right weren't in the original scene; they are the result of the selection nightmare I went through when trying to separate the sky from the trees in PS CS3 in order to bring out the clouds. This is the best I've come up with so far.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

A dreary, moody scene, however a little flat and lacking a focus point for me. Check out Tony Kuyper's luminosity painting technique which I think would enable you to selectively add contrast to the sky quite easily.

Alright here's a different take, with the original colour version, different crop, and after using Tony's luminosity masks which made the selection just a few clicks away. Thanks for pointing it out, and many thanks to Tony Kuyper for putting up such useful tutorials. This is more a proof of concept, I'll work on this version some more without posting it here.
