As I was leaving from an afternoon of shooting the changing aspen color last fall -- I noticed about a dozen Robins around a low spot in the road (ok mud puddle). They were actively pushing each other away from the prime locations and I enjoyed watching them chase each other around in the limited sunlight. I plan to share another interaction shot but wanted to seek some advice on next steps with this capture. I like the foreground OOF and the blurred background/DOF….. Let me know what you think would make this shot better and thanks for your time.

ISO 100, 840mm, f 5.6, 1/100th, 1D MarkIV, full frame, no post processing

I also like the foreground and background! The only suggestion would be a little more canvas on the left. Great capture!

A nice looking image. I enjoy seeing this species somewhere other than on grass. Color is good and natural.

I wish there was a bit more room at the bottom to include more of the reflection. I would use a higher ISO setting as well to get a higher shutter speed and improve my chances of avoiding subject blur.

Nice. I like the pastel colors in the watery setting. I think it could use a little sharpening on the head, back and breast.

I always love these guys. A few hang around here all winter but most return the first part of April. I really like the setting and as Richard has said including the full reflection would be something to consider. For me the bird is a bit soft but overall I really like this image.
