I never gave much thought to orchids in the past although I have shot them on a number of occasions when we brought them to the house. We never had much luck growing them but recently I've become much more enamored with them, especially in the winter when not much is going on outside. It also looks like Chrissy has figured out how to keep them healthy and they seem to thrive in the mostly indirect light of our bathroom. Just brought these home a week or so ago and they have begun their modelling career already. All comments welcome.>=))>

Lovely Bill! I love orchids, but have always had a hard time coming up with something I like. You've done a wonderful job.
I like the three blooms with the unopened buds as a counterpoint. Looks like maybe there's a shadow on the BG in the lower left corner because it seems a little darker than the rest of the BG. Maybe that was intentional though. Can't wait to see more.

We've got one like this blooming also. I've tried a few shots that weren't my usual major macro but haven't got anything as nice as this. I really enjoy the overall brightness and the gentle arc through the frame. Your showing off the whole bloom stalk very nicely.

Bill:
I like the lighting in your bathroom studio; soft but full and an ever slight gradient from top to bottom giving some airy feel to the image. Lovely!

Love the bg with this. Really makes the colors and textures standout with a different feel that black does. Beautifully done.

Nice portrait Bill. The color is great. Is there a tad of motion blur in the bloom on the right?

Such beautiful flowers! When I see them in a store I think, "Bill would love to photograph these in his bathroom studio" I haven't ever tried to grow them or photograph them. Your beautiful photos may make me think I should venture to buy one, at least to photograph until it dies. . . Beautiful color combo in these orchids, nice details, and great comp in this, Bill.

Stunning, Bill. As I said one of the previous posts, your work with Orchids has been exemplary  . Love the color choice for the Orchid and the composition. Squarish frame is also perfect for this composition.

A nice full blooming trio, well positioned in the frame. The very slight gradient gives this a natural, comfortable feel.

Wonderful, I love everything about this! Admittedly, I have a soft spot for Orchids too...
