Toadlily flowers

Toadlilies are a shade-loving flower and this variety is called "lightning strike". I will post a top view of these later. I had also posted a top view of these several months ago in this gallery. They are an unusual but beautiful flower with an unusual name!

Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens. F/11 for 0.6 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

Nice saturated colors, Carolyn  - with the Toad lilies in very excellent shape. Background looks great too. Without the bud and the bloom in the back it would have been more text bookish but it in no way affects the aesthetics.

Great take !

Wow Carolyn. Those are very interesting blooms! Your DOF here is really nice, and I like the green BG. I also like the leaves that you used as an anchor. Very nice photo!

Good depth and BG; lovely blooms and well composed. What's not to like? I really like the way the lilies in front command the frame.

This is lovely, Carolyn. I especially like the flood of green in the bg - it sets the flowers off beautifully. The spread of leaves grounds the comp nicely too.

A splendid photo of a splendid flower, Carolyn. A modest flower can easily become more pleasant in a photo, but only a very good photographer can make a beautiful subject even more beautiful.
Thanks for sharing this flower that I have never seen before.
Cheers.
