Wren High ISO

Sugar Land, TX. My backyard. February 19, 2011

D3 ISO 3200. 500/4 with 1.4 x tc. f5.6 1/800s. Gitzo with Wimberly head. Before the sun came over my house to the yard. Background noise reduction. We were talking about the D3 last week and I decided to trust it more.

Carolina Wren. One my my favorite birds. A "10" on the cuteness factor. This bird always shows up early, but the sun doesn't show up until 9am at this time of year.

Terrific shot Angela. Just have to love the high ISO capabilities of this camera! Of course the skill of the photog is a very key element as well, and you've done well here. :toast:

Excellent. Doesn't look at all like ISO 3200.

ISO 3200 - that's unfair Angela. Some of the people I met in SE Asia who had Nikons had them set to 1600 as their default! Your shot shows why - well done

Excellent image Angela, very nice bird, great perch, fine background.
At 3200 ISO, the quality of the image seems good too: your bird is still.
Is this full frame?
Have a look to my my new post, I'm looking for seeing your opinion and thanks for your previous advice.

Great pose this little animated beauty presented to you. I like the over-all color scheme, and that perch is awesome too.

Sweet Portrait Angela

Angela. Your images keep getting better all the time. I love this one as wrens are some of my favorites, and you did this one well. Nice eye contact and body position. I do have one small nit, and that is the lichens on the perch seem to have to much blue in them, BUT i have a new monitor and I am not sure the calibration took. Well Done!!.

I went in my yard when I hit home today. The
Lichen IS blue Wade. Good call but still the correct color balance.

Well done. These little birds move around very fast. I'm amazed at the IQ at 3200 ISO. That lichen on the branch adds so much to the picture.

Wonderful image for iso 3200, that is what sets the D3 (D3s) apart from the rest, I like the overall composition, detail and background,
well done.
