Clouds fill the sky above frozen Meddybemps Lake as the sun sets in January in Downeast Maine. The high, thin couds are creating a prismatic sun halo effect with greenish and purplish hues.
Canon 5DII, EF17-40 @ 17mm, various sec @ f8, ISO 200. 3 exp HDR x 4 (vert) img pan.

I'm no HDR fan in general (because most are pretty obviously poorly processed), but this is sweet! Has a tremendous amount of depth and the sky just sucked me into the scene. I do wish there was more shadow detail on each side, but that's pretty minor. Works very well as a pano too.

Bill, I love the sky in this. My brain wants this rotated 2 degrees to the right. I may be wrong on that. But that was my first thought.

I like the bluish cast you've kept on this image. I would remove the slight haloing on the left trees.

Very nice Bill. That sky is fantastic to look at and the blues give this a wonderful mood. I really enjoy looking at this!
