Lake Hodges, Poway, CA February 17, 2012
Charlie Van Tassel took me to one of his favorite Lake Hodges spots to shoot Western Grebes. I was fortunate to get several shots of the Grebes "rushing", but none as good as David Haynes'. It was a bright sunny day and we got many shots with beautiful water colors with reflection of the mountain background and sky. This "exchange" is a mating ritual. This is not the best photo I took that day, but it is a nice behavioral example. I have calibrated my screens twice, but am not satisfied with the colors and brightness. They post differently than they look on my screen.

Hi Patrick: Nice behavioral image. The composition feels pretty static with the centered position. I'd consider a crop to change the relative placement of the grebes. Image needs a CCW rotation. If the image is posting with different colors than what you see on your screen, are you converting the color space to sRGB and embedding the profile in the image? If not, the browser will likely render it differently than what you are seeing on your monitor. Looks like your "larger version" is the same size as smaller version.

Looks like some great behavior you captured Patrick, I'd like to see either a closer crop or a larger version. :toast:
