We have had an incredibly mild winter and our callas are growing like crazy. This is the first flower of the season taken last week. All comments welcome.>=))>

How special, a heart shaped flower for Valentines day! The apparently missing stamen and the water drop add a lot. (I'm not familiar with Calla's so I don't know if the stamen is truly missing or not.)

Mark: What you see here is what you get with callas. The center part is called a spadex. You'll note them on Gary's x-ray shot.

Exceptional, Bill. Really like the beautiful heart shaped flower with the drop at the the tip of the flower, and the leaves make an excellent BG. Well composed image.

Beautiful, Bill. Think how this will look with your new A77! Or even better, a Nex-7!

I'm just bowled over by this one, Bill ! The setting of leaves is perfect, as are the whites. A marvellous composition ( and the droplet's a neat bonus )

Beautiful! The contrast to the BG, all details (incl. also the water drop) and well managed DOF make the image perfect.

The angle chosen show a beautiful design; a photo beyond Valentine day, for me. This is why I suggest to cut a finger in the high, for lowering lines and details. What do you think about, Bill?
I have now looked at the almost two pages of new entries that I missed. You are right: this is the best floral gallery in the world.
Cheers.

Special photo for the Valentine's Day, Bill  - love the heart shape emphasized and the lone water drop at the tip. Could not have been better captured :toast:

Great use of shape and tones Bill. I like the water droplet - that is a nice touch. Very good work.

As fine a calla image as I've seen Bill. Superb comp with rich folds of foliage framing the flower... The droplet is the perfect finish to it. Hope you can tell I like this one.
