Location: Tucson, AZ - AZ Sonoran Desert Museaum

During the cooler months the Desert Museaum has a demonstration where they fly some of their raptors & ravens around very close to the public. They then have the birds perch at various locations so you can get an up-close look at them. It is a very cool experience and I can tell you right now, I need serious help with my flight photography! Anyway, I thought you all might enjoy to see this. Comments & critiques welcome!

Tonia,
A nice image of a GHO. I think the setting you have the owl in is almost too busy, too much other stuff competing for the viewers attention. Also, I think it is just a bit too light, a slight darkening might improve the photo IMHO. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with John T. about the busyness of the shot. I would have tried to zero in on the owl and eliminate some of the branches. I would also reduce the contrast and it looks like it might be a little over sharpened.

Thanks for the suggestions, here is a cropped version that is slightly darker. I didn't have time to alter the sharpening as I'm on my way out to work. Hope this works better.

Tonia, I like the repost alot!! Still has enough of the environment to establish where the owl is found, and the owl stands out better. Thanks for sharing the repost.

Great shot Tonia! This is very much to my liking in that I like capturing birds in their environment. But then, I struggle with just how much environment to include in the shot. The first photo is too busy, the repost is much better! :toast: Mark
