Ram in Snow

A nice, full curl Dall ram on a dark, cold day. Low light and wind made shooting extremely difficult, I think this is the best one I walked away with from that morning.

As always, comments & suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Nice alert pose. Tough exposure conditions. Looks like you handled it well.

This is a great image. The pose and the environment really work for me. Great eye contact and dof. If this is full frame, you were right on top of this guy,. Fine looking ram.

Gorgeous looking image ! Great wintery feel. The rocks and lichen do intrude a little while admiring the awesome horns.

Hi Guy,

Nice specimen and nicely rendered, especially on the exposure - not always easy to capture white-on-white detail on a subject standing on snow! I like the inclusion of the rocks in terms of adding to the context/habitat of the animal, but a bit of a shame that they visually overlap with the horns (definitely "hides" them to a degree).

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Great shot, Guy! The others already said about the bg...regardless, a great shot and a beauty of a ram. Wish you had a larger version! :toast:

Too bad the dark horns were intersected by the rocks, making them merge a bit. I wonder, too, if a wee touch brighter would be an enhancement. I really like the good eye contact, detail and the fact that this appears to be a spectacular specimen.
