My last trip to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park was a veritable "cheetah-fest".

This young mom and her juvenile cubs were enjoying a drink at a waterhole in the golden morning light. We spent 90 minnutes with them, during which time she hunted and took down a young springbok (no pics!!).

Techs:
Nikon D3s with Nikkor 500mm f4 VR-II @ 700mm
f7.1 @ 1/800 SS @ ISO-280 (auto ISO)

Not easy to accomodate and compose three in a frame and you did well here to get all heads aligned nicely. I do wish for better eye contact from the rear two but still a nice family portrait. Hope you get another chance soon to catch them hunting. Did you get pics of them dining

The tight juxtaposition with the three faces so close makes me think, that although this is fine as posted, a vertical crop would be equally or more dramatic. I envy you those 90 minutes! I really like the reflective eyes in the youngster in front!

The unique and funny positioning of the three heads make this an interesting image. I do echo Lon's suggestion about a vertical tighter presentation as this would emphasize that positioning even better.
