Clouds reflect off a thin layer of ice on Meddybemps Lake about 15 minutes before sunrise in Downeast Maine. The lake had been freezing over, then breaking up for a couple of weeks. This time, after a night of single digit temps, it stayed frozen.3 image pan.
Canon 5DII, EF17-40 @ 17mm, 1/10sec f8, ISO 100.

The reflected colors on the ice are breathtaking. This is so much nicer than the thumbnail suggests, I wished you'd added a large version. I like the framing effect of the darkened tree lines. Great image

Indeed, the framing leads one into the nice colors. Bigger is better with this one.

Stunning reflections. Love the dark framing (rocks, trees, branches and fallen trees) leading into the picture.

Bill, this is a consistent capture of the moments before sunrise to me. A fine balanced composition to my eye, and I appreciate the natural and delightful colors. A large print will certainly reveal some more details in the foreground elements that would make for additional focal points to me.

This is a beautiful sunrise Bill. The colors and reflection are wonderful. I too would like to see this as a large print. Bet it would look fantastic!
