Seriously awesome capture. Would love to see a larger print and the techs.

I like the way you have positioned the bears high in the frame. By doing this, you have brought attention to the coloured mosses and lichen on the rock face. The bg is a little busy, but can't be helped. How nice it would have been if you could have got blue sky and some clouds in the bg instead!

Definately a very interesting perspective on these guys.. I really like the textures and detail of the rock face and the fact that the bears are so comfortable on that ledge. I agree with Ajit re the background, but it's not a big issue and sometimes you get what you get! Quite a moment :toast:

Hi Jerry,

Techs are Nikon D300, Nikon 300mm/f4, iso 160, f/4 @1/400sec. Not sure why I didn't stop down a bit but there you have it.

Thanks all for the comments. Yes it would have been great to have a cleaner background, however it was such a neat situation and not one that I have seen before, I couldn't pass it up. The cliff face was quite a bit higher than I have shown here, I was scared for the mother, she was awfully close to the edge.

Interesting perspective and mood. In many cases, BG's like that can be a big distraction but for some reason.....it really works in this image! Very unusual and very nicely done!

Very different perspective here. I like the relaxed poses of both bears.

Very intriguing setting. I think it works well and love the accent of the lichens on the rock face. My only complaint is I would have liked to view this larger to better appreciate detail!

Lovely and very interesting perspective. You don't normally get this angle with brown bears.

Great perspective - nice colours, seems like good detail (hard to tell in only a small image), and a unique moment.
Congrats on thre DOUBLE WP!

This is beautiful....both composition and the manner by which the colors of browns and oranges begin with the bears and continue downward. But, above the bears is a nearly monochrome section....which is eye-catching. Congrats on WP... well deserved.

Great perspective. The textures of the rock and in the trees really help emphasize the focal point. Congrats.

That is the nature.
In this photo, there are lots of elements; rocks, plants, colours and pose of the bears.

Trees looks nice as BG.
