Glacier Milk

Late fall and early winter the Carbon River turns a milky turquoise when it's not blown out. This was the case early morning last November. The frost-encrusted moss on the bedrock in the fg added some nice contrasting texture I thought.
Selective dodging and burning done with Levels adjustment layers. A method I picked up from Ellen and Josh Anon's excellent book, "PS CS5 for Nature Photograhers." Please check out the larger version.
Thanks for looking.

Wow, beautiful colors and textures, and your comp is really nicely chosen! If anything, I might crop a bit off the top forest part. Either way, I love it!

Love your composition, Bruce; the rock and frost covered moss in the foreground creates an outstanding pattern, nicely leading the eye back across that milky water and to the forest beyond. The soft light is exquisite. A beautiful image that would make a great print.
