A Bit of Open Water

This image is part of an ongoing exercise to master the exposure of snow. I have a lot of it for a large part of the year and I need to get along with it, photographically speaking. For that reason, I will be most appreciative of any comments and suggestions along those lines. I have also been trying to reduce my compositions to a few key elements in an effort to simplify. Please let me know what you think. Thanks for looking

Looks pretty good, Nancy. The exposure looks perfect. The shadows seem a tad grayish, which would be fine if this were B&W, but i might expect to see a bit more blue/cyan here. Compositionally, it works for me, but id crop the far left (so the diagonal hits the exact corner) and clone out that one :toast: bright snow/ice thingie on the edge in the llhc. Interesting shot!

I like all the detail that you've captured in the snow. The pile of snow behind/on the rock adds a nice change of pace. I can also see a tiny crop from the left to remove the bit of rock at the very edge.

The exposure of the snow looks good on my monitor. Well composed showing
the creek/stream both diagonally and S-shaped.

Very nice Nancy. I think the snow looks good with the detail and textured feel you captured. I could see the far left crop as well.

The texture and detail in the snow look good Nancy as does the exposure. I agree with the others on a slight crop from the left maybe to the "V".
