Elk Springs Creek in Fog

On a very foggy early morning while waiting for enough light to shoot birds, I spent time capturing some foggy landscape images. This was one I particularly liked. I look at barbed wire and jack fencing as metaphors for the American west and the feature in a number of my favorite images. I like the amount of light I was able to bring out, but wish the red tints could be reduced or deleted - no luck with Lightroom.

Canon EOS-1D Mark II, Canon 24-70 f2.8 L@ 68mm, 1/200, f/22, ISO 400 Processed on Adobe Lightroom 3.5.

I like this Kenneth - the comp is nice with the diagonal fence and the water. But it VERY dark... at least a 1/2 stop in my opinion, maybe up to a stop. It hardly has any color at all on my screen.

Kenneth, I see no color on my monitor; true, this is a compressed image. Looks a little under exposed and I'm guessing. Can't help you with Lightroom. I use CS5 PS.

Welcome to NPN and PA.

Carol

PS ditto on David's comments on the repost. Looks like a fine composition.

I really like the composition of the image but like the others I feel it is too dark to really appreicate the content.

Ok - by popular demand - more exposed. Now what say you all?

That's better Kenneth - I feel like the other original was like looking through overly dark sungalsses. Now it's dim but moody. I actually think it could come up another half a stop or so, with a little added contrast in the blacks (don't want to lose the fog!).

It's a neat little scene, and I definitely like the detail in the grasses and still like the lines of water and fence.
