This is MY idea of "Serenity" - dawn on Lac LeJeune in British Columbia, with rising mist and calling loons.

I envy you and your idea of serenity :). The early light, the mist, and the lone loon all bring a feeling of peace. The pano crop works very well. Beautiful photo, Sandy.

A stunning composition Sandy with beautiful light. I'm not sure if your d300 has a temperature control function but if it does I would of increased the temperature slightly to add a touch of warmth to the end result making a great image greater.

Nice work !

This scene while sitting on the end of a pier with a cup of morning coffee- it would be wonderful.
I like the mist off the lake and the fog in the trees that create the nice mood.

Doug, I prefer it as it was: lying in a small boat, 500 mm lens balanced on the bow, shooting and hearing loons!

Beautiful scene. Love the golden hues and the strong silhouette of the loon.

I bet you could have heard a pin splash in the water... very vivid presentation of serenity.
Nice work as always.

This is my idea of serenity, too! What a gorgeous shot! That light is just wonderful - and the reflections! Wow! The mist is fantastic - and the bird makes a perfect, subtle point of interest. I love your idea of serenity. Next time, can I come along!?

Excellent depiction of the theme of serenity! This has such a nice, classic, and classy, look to it in addition to the sense of peace and solitude it imparts. Good on the Pick for it.

Congratulations Sandy this is just a wonderful shot. In the large version I can really appreciate the layers of trees in the background. I love the way the fog almost glows and loon punctuates the setting beautifully. Certainly is Serenity and a well deserved EP!
