Ice bubbles 2

I'm fortunate to live along a nicely flowing stream that allows for lots of bubbles and swirls to form (and freeze) along its rocky shores. This is another photo from my recent outing. The ice was wonderfully designed that day and I got many pictures; I may just start an ice series.

Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens. F/22 for 1/4 sec. ISO 100.

Really neat - I like the comp you pulled out of this Carolyn.... Terrific.... I don't know if I'm sold on the bold color or not...but really great overall.

This is beautiful Carolyn, I really like those bubbles within the bubbles and the the strong lines and color as well. I might just crop or clone a little on the top left where there is some brown.

Surreal and beautiful Carolyn.

I love the strong waving lines that encompass the bubbles. The bubbles in the top left counterweight the dominant bubbles in the lower right superbly. Awesome shot!

Great shot Carolyn. Sometimes it is so hard to find a good composition with something like this, but you certainly nailed this one.

FYI--This blue was the natural color; no blue was added in processing. In fact I had to pull back on it some! (The ice was in shade and my white balance was set on daylight.) I do tend to like blue for ice pictures; it makes it feel cold but I also don't want to overdo it.

Hali--Agree about the brown in top left corner. I should have cloned that out.

Thanks all for your comments.

More ice abstracts to come.

these are terrific, can't wait for the next installment. Maybe I should take a walk along my stream. Your ice might be the inspiration I've been looking for, Thanks!
