Group of Leaves & Alt. Crop

Another in my scanner series. I visited the North Carolina Arboretum on this gloomy day and asked if I could "borrow" these beautiful leaves. I promised to take good care of them and I think I have. After scanning in the leaves, I processed them in Nik Software's Viveza and Color Efex Pro to strengthen the color and details. Various leaves ... oak, chestnut, maple and beech.

Equipment: Epson Perfection V33 Scanner
Post Processing Software: Nik Software

Your comments and thoughts are very much welcome as I travel this new journey of scanography.

Gold leaves is what came to mind. Beautiful colors, texture and shape. Would like to see this filling the whole frame without the black bg.

Gary's suggestion was a good one. The repost is much stronger, IMO. I like the gold color, but I do find some of the greenish tones somewhat odd.

I actually like both, but I think I prefer the first post. The blank black framing contrasts the leaves and gives some shape to the group. I also haven't seen what is apparently a series - so the black seems new to me. Maybe others have seen it a bunch? Anyway, I like the way the lights fades at the edges of the group and leaves dropping in and out of it too.

I personally like the original image though the repost is certainly nice. It's a different take on fall colors and it artistically works with the black background.

Hi everyone and thanks so much for taking a look at another of my scanner art images. I'm very happy with more images, but I personally like the first one with the striking black background. Scott, the green color is actually coming from the reflection of the light from the scanner as it hits the leaves. Some objects pick up that reflection more than others. I try to change those tones but then they look unnatural. David, I have been posting a few of these images that are done only by using a scanner, no camera is involved. I also have been posting a couple on the Photo Art gallery, but I also have all of these images on my website if you want to take a look. My scanner art images are in the gallery titled "Creative Digital Photography."

I do appreciate all of your comments as I continue my journey along this road of scanner art ... it's just very fun.

Thanks for your comments, Gary and Lorna. Who knew I would be having this much fun with this processing. Lorna, I just posted "Daffodils on Parade" in the Photo Art Gallery. Take a look and let me know what you think. One image with duplicate layers. Very fun to work with this process. Thank again to everyone and your comments.

My vote goes to the first image. I think the light works better for me. :wavey:
