Morning Limpkins

Spent two days shooting Vero beach and the vierra wetlands. this image from my first day at Vero. I really like the color palette, morning glow and the bg mosses. I have finally moved from AV setting to full manual and am happy to take the leap. For this image I was playing with my settings to get my dof right. Unfortunately by the time I changed the aperture the birds position changed. This was the perfect ha's for both and I think i just made the dof on both birds.
Canon 7D 300 mm 2.8 L IS w1.4 X
ISO 500 f8 @1/640 HH from a boat very close to full frame
C&C always welcome, Thanks

nice, Cheryl--I really like the comp and dof. very nice setting as well. I spend more and more time in manual--I think it's (mostly) the way to go.

Cheryl, I also like the light and the colors, and I always love Spanish moss. In the larger view you can tell how sharp the birds are.

Really nice Cheryl. Love the natural setting and how all the colors work together. The poses of the two birds work well together.

I like the color pallette and the poses of these two birds. I also like the inclusion of a lot of habitat in this shot. It gives me a good sense of the environment they live in. Nice.

Very nice. I like the almost cuddly poses from the Limpkins, the light on the birds and the appealing natural setting. Good sharpness and light in the eye on both birds.

I had to look this one up, never heard of a limpkin before. I like that both are in focus in the larger image and the complementing poses of each bird, nice job in getting this from a boat.

I love that you got the pair in the wild...I am seeing a greenish cast on the birds that I'm not sure is correct. Sharon
