WOW. I don't think you could have set this up any better if the bird was obeying your every command. Love the overhead branch, personally. Congrats on a gorgeous image.

What a beauty, Angela. I like the backward glance that you're getting. I would reduce the bightness overall just a touch. Very nice. :toast:

Nice image - set up, called in, perch cut, trimmed, and placed all perfectly - you can tell it's a Murphy set-up from a mile away. Came out great! Sounds like an interesting workshop.

Yes Sandy. Thank you How wonderful that such an artistic addition to an image can change our imperfect, OOF, wish it wasn't there problems into a beautiful work of art. No longer do I get to blame nature for the mediocrity of an image. Searching the land for its beauty, Knowing how to find the perfect perch fitted to the bird because it's the birds choice and being taught doctorate level bird behavior by Alan was truly a gift. He can predict their next move with amazing accuracy. Apparently they like it too- what a joy to have them fly to me instead of away from me. My father who was the kindest man in the world could call birds in the woods when we would go on vacation. He once had a wild bird lamd on his finger in the woods!! Kind of reminded me of then.

My images that were previously relegated to be enjoyed by family and friend can now be considered fine art and might get purchased. Maybe someday they may even grace the cover of a magazine like Alan's. (a girl can dream).

Let me make this perfectly clear at this point. I did not mean to imply that Alan has a doctorate in bird behavior. I only meant to say that I have been with many people with extensive training and his knowledge was superior and more useful than anything I had ever seen. Please accept this as a correction for any implication that may have been given.

And my sincere apologies to anyone who does have a doctorate. I certainly did not mean to minimize anyone's educational background. I hope someday to be able to study with all of you.

Darn near a perfect shot, Angela. Can't add much to what's already been said. You even got that very slight fuzzy look that the species has. On the evidence, a very worthwhile workshop.
