Eagle Family

I took this photo last April when I found out there was a nest in the area. This was a close as I could get from the road and I used the longest lens I own. I know there are far better photos out here on NPN of eagles but here is my first attempt at the avian gallery.

Sweet composition, Cristina. It might have been nicer to have the flying eagle facing you, but I'm not sure-it works this way. If you could get an adult on the nest as well with the white head showing, it would really be super. Given it's size in the frame, the eagle in flight looks plenty sharp and it's position in the frame is perfect IMO. Not the classic close-up we so often post, but I like it.

Nice environmental image! You got the eagle perfectly-placed in the frame and a nicely-balanced shot.
Like this a lot!

Cristina, I love the wing spread that you captured. The bird is easily recognizable as an eagle even though small in the frame. We don't all have long, expensive lenses and I think you've done a good job with the equipment you have.

I would suggest that you start commenting more on the images posted by others. The suggested ratio is 5 comments for each photo that you post which many people don't realize. You will learn a lot from commenting and you will end up with more comments yourself as people see that you are taking the time and effort to make comments as well as post photos.

Thanks for the comments. I wasn't sure if this capture was anything that people would like or be interested in. Carol, I understand and appreciate your comments on my participation. I'm still a relative new member to NPN and still have moments where I think that what I have to say may be wrong or has already been said. However, I am trying to participate more through comments and forum discussions.

Nice composition, Christina. The flying adult is placed in the ideal spot between the branches. I like the upward pointing feathers on the wing tips. The nest might well become active again this spring giving you another shot (or shots) at the eagles. This can become addictive.
