Looking back through images from last summer, I found this one of a cool fly that looked just plain happy to pose for me atop a daisy. Nikon D700, 180 macro, iso 200, f4.5, 1/250. Larger image provided for better fly detail. Comments welcome.

A fine shot indeed- Like the contrast between the sharp detail of the fly against the narrow DOF of the flower- Very well done, Fabio

If i had beautiful iridescent wings, I'd be happy to pose for the camera, too. Perfect dof. the detail of the fly is excellent. Very nicely done

This is just fantastic Scott, the detail in the wings and the eye, the dof and the colors are all wonderful. I really like that contrasting green of the bg with the yellow of the daisy.

Love the green eye(s) and the iridescence of the wings. The color temperature seems to be a bit on the cold side for my taste - however, on the positive side, this makes the background green stand out due to the blueish hue.

Even though these can be pesky critters they sure can have some beautiful coloring which you have captured nicely. I also like his pose and the comp you made for this photo. Great detail on the bug.
