Santa Ritas by Moonlight

Nikon D5100 w/ 20-35mm lens
ISO 800, F4, 5 sec. exposure
Location: Sonoita, AZ

This is one of a series of images I captured 1/8/2012 while doing a time-lapse sequence. From Sonoita I was facing west as a full moon rose behind me, illuminating the foreground. Comments & critiques welcome.

Btw, if you are interested in seeing some of my time-lapse projects I can be found on YouTube under TheToniaGraves

That full moon can really light up the landscape. I think I might have moved over to my left and put that white house behind one of those trees as it really draws your attention at first. Wonderful effect with the stars and clouds, nice job in getting this.

I like the color of the sky and the composition, though the white house is a bit distracting. I checked out some of your time-lapse movies, nice work. The time-lapse for this one should look pretty cool with the clouds moving.

When I added contrast to the scene in post processing it really made the house stand out, I might be able to back off on that a bit so it doesn't draw the eye in so much.

Nice night shot! Yeah, that white house is a bit distracting. You could probably clone it out easy enough.
