Watched this young one for about 2 hours- he did not move. There is not enough ice on the river for these guys yet and they don't seem to be doing well finding food. Usually, by this time of year there are a few carcasses on the ice for them to scavenge. This was from the car window, hand held.

Lindy, I like the comp and the tree that the eagle's in. I wish there was more light on the eagle's face, and I wish there had been a way to exclude the distracting oof foreground branches.

Hi Lindy... I think an image like this with a smaller subject and an interesting array of branches is nice, and having a sky with some various clouds/tones helps make it work too. Unfortunately you had the foreground branches as Brian mentioned. Moving left or right to eliminate the branches from view would have been great.

I like the overall composition with the placement of the tree, branch and eagle, it is unfortunate the the out of focus branches come across, perhaps another angle for a cleaner view.
