I was hoping to have the time for a sunset shoot at Rodeo Beach, but with holiday traffic scrapped that idea to meet friends on Treasure Island to shoot the New Year's fireworks. Expecting the island to be flooded with photographers my friends and I decided to go early enough to secure parking and make our way to a preferred location.

I made it with just enough time to pop off five shots getting this comp and a tighter version before the final light of 2011 faded. This was more than I expected as the night before we had rain and fog and I wasn't disappointed by not getting my beach shot.

This is really beautiful w/ the city lights & the sunset! If this were mine, I might crop out about 2/3rds of the water so that the focus can be on the city & sky.

Great shot. I especially like the black & bright sculpture of the buildings, it's an amazing view. The top half of the sky looks like it may be oversaturated, but I wasn't there.

what a great cityscape! Though I think a crop might help, IMHO you've cropped a bit too much; still lovely though.
