red ruff lemur (C)

Taken at the Miller Park Zoo. I was trying to focus on the one eye in the light, but keeping enough detail in the eye in shadow. I find these lemurs with their long noses are difficult to keep in focus in low light situations. Did not want to use a flash.

Canon T1i
1/500 @ F5.6 ISO 100
Canon 55-250mm @ 250mm
IS on HH

I like the image and the richness of the colored fur and eye. I am not sure how it looks full sized, but on my monitor I keep straining to find more detail in the dark shadows that might not be there.

Hey John,
I agree with Lon on wanting a bit more detail on the shadow side. It is a nice pose and if you could get any more detail on that side it would be a big help.

Lon and Roman, attached is a re-post with my attempt at opening up the shadow area.

Being a Lemur-Lover either of these two versions is pleasing to my eye John, though probably the second version works a little better! Wishing you a great year ahead :^)
