leaf on ice

Have not seen any snow (except for Halloween weekend) and hardly even any ice in our area so far this winter. It makes for limited photo opportunities outside right now; good time to work through old files. This photo was taken last year on our brick patio after an ice storm.

Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens. F/29 for 1/2 sec. ISO 100. Some spotlighting with an LED flashlight. Tripod mounted.

Hi Carolyn. I like the contrasting blue and gold colors and, of course, the design of the ice. Good use of the LED on the leaf (although it's a little bright in the center on my contrasty Imac). This image shows you can sometimes strike gold (and blue) right at home.

I really like the turn of the leaf on the upper portion, it gives some more depth to the image, the blue and gold contrast is reaaly nice, and I really like all those trapped bubbles and how they reflect the light.
