Nice getting both male and female Scott. f/16 worked well to get enough DOF. Water colors are pleasing to me. If this were mine I would add a bit to the left and take off a bit from the right. The females tail is just touching the edge.

Nice getting both together and reasonably sharp - a difficult thing to pull off in my experience. I agree about the left edge here.
My bigger concern, though, is that the image looks "muddy." It might benefit from a slight increase in exposure/brightness and/or contrast.

nice job getting both sharp, Scott. I like the color and texture in the water, the reflection of the two eyes, and it looks like you did a good job on the exposure in some very bright light given those techs. I agree with the suggestion on the comp.

Congrats on capturing the 2 together. I agree with the image needing a little more behind the birds and a little added punch.

Scott, My wife and I review images posted on NPN just about every evening. We both love this image and we shared all the great aspects of it. Thanks for providing us with a lovely discussion over a lovely image and techs are great also.

You did well to get both sexes and get them quite sharp. I like the reflection and your exposure. Agree that it needs more room on the left.

Great to get a pair, both in nice poses. Nice eyes and detail, and complimentary water. The image is fairly flat and dull - a boost in contrast and sats would help. and moving the pair a little more toward the right would also benefit.

Nice job in getting both in focus and the larger image has some wonderful detail. I could see changing the crop and maybe a slight contrast adjustment to boost the overall image, nice job in getting this.

A beautiful shot. Detail and sharpness are very nice and I really like the water color. Usually I would like a lower angle but it wouldn't work in this case since the female would probably partially obscure the male.

I like this. Great show of "head-gear" by both of the birds. Perfectly sharp. Great job boosting that f up to 16. I would haven't been that fast. I'm not seeing any issues with the contrast. I looks pretty good just the way it is.
