Wood Stork

Saw this wood stork on a dirt road while driving through the big cyprus swamp area of the everglades. It was very grey and overcast that day and I was lucky enough he was in front of some pine trees for a little contrast with the background. I'm afraid the crop is a little tight left to right, but I had a branch entering the image that I needed to crop out. Let me know what you think

The flat light has cost a little in apparent sharpness (directional light brings out the feather texture). Good choice on the green background to minimize the sky. I don't mind the left-right tightness but I'd like to see a bit more space at the bottom where the feet have been cut off by the frame.

I agree with Rich D's comments Ben. More room for the feet would have been nice and the catchlight too. Catchlights can be tough with this species.

Good job in handling those difficult white feathers and not blowing them out, I like the pose and choice of background as well,
nice job spotting this.
