This is from our very own Bird of Paradise. We've had this very healthy plant for over 4 years and this is its first flower. Because of where it is in our garden I didn't shoot it a lot but I did like this tight abstract.

2011 was a great year for the finest Flora gallery on the planet. The 2011 EPA shots are simply spectacular. Thanks to everyone who posted and commented in 2011 and may 2012 bring you great subjects and even better light. >=))>

Great colors and light. Also think the vertical pano format works well. Yes, it was worth the wait! Can't wait to see what you come up with next year.

I still recall some lovely BOP abstracts from you a year or two back, Bill - this is right up there with them. I love the sharpness of texture fading to softness at the top, and the blend of the colours.

What a beautiful abstract, great form and the vibrant colors are a feast for the eyes, even those of us with color blindness (so you will never know how really good these colors are.)
