Another take on Mt Hood from Lolo pass.
Canon5DMk2, 70-200mm f/2.8L at 130mm Polarizer.
iso50, 1/20, f11. B&W processing in Lightroom. Wish I could have made something of this in color, but even with a gold and blue polarizer it was pretty flat color-wise.

Stunning B/W! The detail of the larger version is terrific. I like the black to white scope or range shown. Tough to crop w/balance where to cut-off the clouds looks vexing. The fog below the cap is a real bonus and all the fresh snow. Frame it!

Color or not, this is a stunning composition. That crowning cloud is amazing.

Very dramatic! What an AWESOME cloud! The B&W presentation really emphasizes the drama in the sky. I can't imagine how hostile the summit would feel on a day like this! Cool image. I also like this with a bit of a crop off the top leaving the mountain a little less centered.

That's pretty awesome, Daniel, and the B&W treatment only makes it better. This actually has a bit of an abstract feel to it which I always enjoy.

Daniel,

Great drama in the sky and what a grand moment captured beautifully. Excellent choice with the b&w even without having seen the color. No nits or suggestions.

A very nice b&w, Daniel. Interesting cloud structure and I like the way the clouds are shrouded over the mountain top. The layers of light and dark work very well... great choice for b&w.

Awesome B&W! I do think a crop from the top to remove the dark, URC makes a stronger composition. But very powerful images as presented. Nice work. :toast:
