Balancing Tawney

This image of a Tawney Eagle from the Craig Lockhart waterhole in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier park. It was sitting in the tree waiting for two Bateleurs to depart before it descended. The wind was gusting so it had to keep its balance. A beautiful bird of prey. They also come in a very light form.

I like the spread wing pose and the coloration of the bird. It would have been nice if his/her head was up a little but still a nice shot.

What a beautiful bird and you have done it justice. I like the pose because of your narrative about the two Bateleurs. Great Image!

Really like the wingspread in this one. I do find myself wanting a little different head angle. Did he not listen to you when you asked him to turn his head this way?

Great wing position and nice light under the bird. These types of shots can be frustrating because all of us want a good look at the eye but the bird needs to be looking down to be sure of its perch. If this were mine I'd work on the broad halo around the bird.

Looks like a magnificent bird. I like the full wingspread and the intent stare. I'm not sure about the sky color and there is a halo that can be remedied.
