Lovely Eva. 25 years you'd have thought the hobbits would have made more effort to extinguish the "eye"

This is lovely, Eva. The contrasting warm and cool colors are particularly striking as are the textures and details in this winter scene. Merry Christmas to you also.

Eva,

I love this too! A wonderful winter scene only topped off and made even better by the appearance and warmth of the sun. What a beautiful and fitting image for the season.

And, a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family too!

Lon

ps. (I would have guessed Velvia - but then I can't remember when it was introduced...)

The snow-covered trees provide some great texture. My first inclination was to suggest cropping some of the sky, but it sort of contrasts and balances the textures elsewhere in the scene.

This is cool- you can feel how that subtle golden sunset is not going to warm the snowy air- it has that distant feel of the winter solstice. A really beautiful scene Eva.

Very nice, and very wintery... It gives an extremely peaceful (albeit frozen) feeling, waiting for the days to get longer and the sun to get warm again...

Beautiful shot, Eva! I like the cold fell this has with the warm sun trying to break through. I always wanted to live somewhere that east of the Rockies where you didn't have to go up into the mountains to have it snow. We don't get coastal conditions like this here. But, then again, you don'y "have" to deal with it unless you choose to also!

Merry Christmas to you too Eva and thanks for all the feedback you've given me since I've joined NPN.

This is a beautiful winter landscape shot, the little patch of sunlight contrasts very nicely against the colder landscape.

Cheers, Gary.

I really like the colors here Eva. The warmth from the sunset contrasts very nicely with the cool tones in the snow/water.
