Timanfaya Awakening

Sunrise in the beautifully barren and surreal Timanfaya National Park on the island of Lanzarote. I'd spent a long time trying to find a good location. The lava fields are just so chaotic, it's difficult to try and find any sense of order to create a good photo. I was drawn to the contrast between the dark and light lava here. I like the comp, especially the larger version. Light is surreal, but quite believable.

This is very other worldly, Adrian. I really like what you have accomplished here. It must have been difficult moving around in that lava field to find your comp.

Looks like Mars. The color is unusual. I like ht Up in your face effect of the FG in the larger version.

Wow, that is a crazy landscape! I had no idea this was the Canary Islands- had to look it up. That is one WILD sky!
