One of my few flight shots. I can count them on one hand I reckon.

John, great flight image. I like the composition giving the large Heron plenty of room to fly into and it shows the environment. The exposure and sharpness look good and I like the pose showing the underside of the wings in detail. I like it.

a really nice view of the underwing plumage, John. is this really at 1/250? if so, amazingly sharp for a flight shot. I like the bg for the most part but am not crazy about the shoreline between the trees and water.

large version is a must see as the heron sperarates very nicely from the background in an 3d effect --all parts of the bird is in light which shows the heron off nicely

Brian
Yes according to my notes from the day it is.
Also the bird was gliding in from the left to land so no wing flapping to deal with.

Excellent sharpness at that (or any) shutter speed John, I like the positioning in the frame and the bg. :toast:

Excellent job of panning with great details @ 1/250th John.
Nice colors, comp, and exposure as well..
The heron stands out from the BG, it all works very well IMO :wavey:

Great angle on the Heron, John and it really pops from the bg in the larger version. Well done.
