Wildebeest at dusk

I just love these silhouettes at dusk or dawn. This was taken at dusk. There were bright spots in the sun, just like the ones in my giraffe image posted last week, and I have cloned them out.
Location: Amboseli NP, Kenya
Date: May 2011
Equip: Canon 7D, Canon 70-200 f2.8 at 155
Specs: ISO 640, f8, 1/2000s, beanbag on vehicle

Thank you for taking the time out to look, and for your comments/critiques.

This one stands out. At first it appeared soft, but I like the mood it creates, not to mention it is probably dust blowing around? I've never been to Kenya or Africa, so I don't really know what things look like! Anyways, excellent image.

Hi Ajit,

I like these type of shots too. I like the composition and colour here and I really like how the subject has that lifted front leg - definitely adds a nice touch of dynamism to the shot. I'm thinking that more of an under-exposure here (while in the field) might have been an interesting alternate approach - the wildebeest would be darker and the upper right hand corner wouldn't be so brilliantly bright (on my monitor that area looks pretty blown out and likely not recoverable in processing). But visually striking and interesting as posted.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this one...

I would continue experimenting with processing tweaks, working toward an almost poster-like graphic. I like this quite a bit and I think you do have enough in the hottest areas to work with. Nice composition, too.
